Over the past 20 years there has been an explosion in the creation and use of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS), facilitated by developments in electronic communications including the Internet. This session will give an overview of the classes, structures, clinical effects and management of the new generation of street drugs.
Shaun is a clinical toxicologist and emergency medicine physician based at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne. He is currently medical director of the Victorian Poisons Information Centre. Shaun undertook his clinical toxicology training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in central London, where he developed a keen professional interest in recreational drugs.
